We invite you to join this expedition to explore the Wildlife & Spring Bloom of South Africa, October 1-14, 2016.

The southern-most point of the African continent is a riotous mix of picturesque mountains, tumbling rivers, rocky fields of flowers, heathland, and a seemingly endless series of bays, lagoons, and headlands, which form the stunning coastline. Much of the flora and fauna is protected by an extensive series of national and state parks, reserves, and private preserves.

The Western Cape Flora is one of only six floral kingdoms of the world, and parts of it harbor one of the greatest density of flowering plants on earth. Each spring the fields and hillsides become colorful rock gardens of endemic flowers, bushes, trees, and singing birds.

Leading this expedition will be an excellent South African botanist, Priscilla Swartz. You will explore world famous gardens and national parks as you see elephants, rhinos, and other wildlife while enjoying spring in South Africa.
