Cuban
botanical
expert
Dr.
Carlos
Sanchez.
Carlos
is
a
professor
at
the
University
of
Havana
and
a
botanist
for
the
National
Botanical
Garden.
His
research
is
focused
on
the
ferns
and
lycophytes
of
Cuba
and
their
conservation.
He
spent
several
weeks
this
summer
at
the
UC
Berkeley
Botanical
Garden
where
he
reviewed
and
identified
an
impressive
720
herbarium
specimens,
including
two
new
species
for
the
Flora
of
Cuba.
He
also
gave
several
talks
to
Bay
Area
plant
societies
and
to
UCBG.
He
looks
forward
to
sharing
his
enthusiasm
for
the
flora
of
Cuba
with
you
on
this
fascinating
trip!
